Tree Removal

We offer complete tree removal whether it be a straight fell onto open ground or a complex dismantle over immovable object such as greenhouses, sheds and conservatories. Please see our customer reviews for examples of these.

Crown Lifting

This is the removal of the lowest branches and/or preparing of lower branches for future removal. Crown lifting is an effective method of increasing light to areas close to the tree or to enable access underneath the tree without obstruction.

Crown Reduction

This is the reduction in height and/or spread of the crown of a tree. Reductions to the outer parts of the tree are carried out to maintain a balanced shape. This service changes the size or shape of the tree to make it suit its immediate environment or to reduce the effets of shading and light loss. Another use is preventing branches touching buildings, roofs, guttering and cabling on telephone lines.

Crown Thinning

This is the removal of a portion of branches to produce a uniform shape around an evenly spaced branch structure. Crown thinning does not alter the overall size or shape of the tree but will allow more light to pass through the tree, limit wind resistance and reduce the weight.

Stump Removal

We remove the tree stump by grinding it out, which is a quick and efficient method. All displacement caused is immediately filled. Tree stumps can often harbour funguses which can spread throughout your garden to other trees and plants.

Hedge Cutting

We offer a full hedge maintenance package which includes pruning, thinning, height reduction, trimming or removal of any size and type of hedge. We can offer this as a one-off service or as a regular contract.

Hedge Laying

Laying hedges is one of the techniques we employ to manage hedgerows. Left unmanaged a hedgerow will continue to grow upwards and outwards and will eventually become a line of trees. Although once a hedge has been laid, regular trimming will keep it in good order for up to 50 years. A well-managed hedgerow is thick; an impenetrable barrier to sheep and cattle and a haven for wildlife, especially ground nesting birds. A well laid hedge is a very natural looking boundary to any garden.

Firewood

We season our firewood to ensure that when they are burned it will be to their full potential. If the wood is not fully seasoned most of the energy is spent drying the moisture contained within the wood instead of generating heat for your home, and is also a key factor in the weight, performance & cost of the logs. Furthermore unseasoned wood produces more smoke and increases the risk creosote build-up within the chimney and can become dangerous, potentially leading to chimney fires.
